"What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of the buffalo in the wintertime. It is the shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset."

----Crowfoot 1821-1890m Blackfoot Warrior and Orator

My photography is essentially the way I see life. A way of keeping a memory of something seen without disturbing it for others to see. To be able to look at the beauty around us in our everyday existence.

The radiant hues of a water lily or the soft pastels of a trillium. The dew as it lays upon a blade of grass on summer morning or the drop of rain as it falls upon the lake. The clouds as they change in bursts of colors before fading into the sunset. The smaller the steps taken in life, the more we see in the world around us.

A lot of time goes into seeking the perfect angle, technique and approach; or simply in waiting for the right light to arrive. Those are the times I create and try to capture the mood, the beauty and the joy in a photograph.

Other time is spent in hours or even days in preparation for this. The searching for the right subject, mood and conditions. This is the cherished time spent observing and studying nature in its glorious beauty.

Thank you for visiting and come by often.
